ive seen the hatch patch , not sure how good it may be , also a little dubious about sticking anyhing onto the deck finish as i dont want to spoil the carbon ! , didnt get as much water in last sail , & the hatch seemed to fit a bit better onto the deck , so maybe its the newness bedding in ? although i wanted to have my battery pack raised from the bilges , there is a lack of height as im limited to a standrd 4 cell rx pack ( aa size ) until after the end of the month as i need to mot / tax my car ! the pack is however inside of a baloon , ive been looking at a 1100mAh 6.6 volt LiFi rx pack weighing just 65 grammes , might be the way to go ? ive also saved 3 grammes with my rx as its the 4 ch planet one ( just 3.5 grammes as opposed to the 6 ch ( standrd kit ) at 6 grammes every little helps , as it tips the scales at 925 grammes

Jon

The hatches never seem to fit very well, if the weather is very bad then you can use insulation tape around the hatch, there was a fancy sticky hatch patch, I think it was made by the swiss, try googling "micro magic hatch patch" there is a video on youtube but I don't know how long they would last.

but if you only had a small amount of water in then I wouldn't worry to much. as long as the RX is out of the water and the battery pack is sealed then it should be OK, I use a small bit of velcro on the servo to keep the battery plug up out of any water, I don't use a switch just a short lead from the RX.
